Due to an increased requirement for support & the need to continually evaluate & improve systems, we are recruiting for an IT Support Specialist for our client in Witham. This is a 6 months + assignment where you will provide advanced support, ensure systems remain available within agreed KPI’s, compliant with relevant patching/security policies/procedures & are monitored.

IT Support Specialist Job Description

  • Maintain, monitor & improve company’s SQL databases
  • Design, create, run & schedule SSRS reports.
  • Create & alter SQL views, functions & stored procedures
  • Maintain, monitor & improve company’s various SSIS packages & ETL for BI reporting
  • Assess system upgrades & improvements
  • Find and resolve data processing problems
  • Extract, analyse & present data as required
  • Take actions to maintain and mitigate cyber security concerns to Infrastructure & Systems
  • Log & raise bugs/change requests to address issues identified with software systems
  • Support the IT Service Desk in providing end user training
  • Make changes to software system following the appropriate development workflow
  • Deliver projects that further the strategic aims of the company

IT Support Specialist Essential Skills & Experience

  • Basic Windows server troubleshooting
  • Ensure all systems have actionable monitoring in place
  • MS SQL server installation & maintenance
  • Create & maintain MS SQL high availability environments
  • Create, maintain & optimise SQL queries, functions, stored procedure etc
  • Create, update & maintain SSIS packages & SSRS reports
  • Ensure the database systems are patched in line with guidelines

IT Support Specialist Essential Attributes

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability of multi-tasking
  • Experience of working effectively within a team
  • Self-motivation & drive with the ability of working on own initiative
  • Proven experience of supporting a range of IT applications & platforms

  • Experience of delivering a high standard of customer service

IT Support Specialist Further Information

  • Immediate requirement – ASAP start
  • 37.5 hours a week (worked between the hours of 8am – 10pm. Rotas set 4 weeks in advance)
  • Provided with mobile & laptop
  • Flexible/home working
